Nepal

I planned a very short visit to Nepal.

Surprise!! I arrived during their first democratic election and all transportation was shut down for security

Kathmandu Street Scene Bicycle Rickshaw Souvenir Shop Thamel is the backpacker district I had an Everest beer and some popcorn
Rooftop view from my hotel A polling place The voters line up The voting was peaceful in Kathmandu.  The Maoists won. I took a bus to Pokara
The trucks were colorful Really bright colored clothes My fellow passengers had interesting faces Political messages everywhere Small town Nepal

I took a public bus to the Indian border Lots of stops along the way with exotic snacks available. I think the driver had a girlfriend at this two-hour pause The last four kilometers to the Indian border were by bicycle rickshaw
