2-3SEP2004 When I was in Yang Shuo, China, I met Alex. He's an
ecologist by day and a jazz musician by night. He invited me to visit him
in Cheltenham.
We rendezvoused in the town common and he introduced me to his delightful
family. I pitched my tent and we had Chinese take out for dinner.
Alex and his oldest son played a jazz duet on the piano. An original
composition called Merrill's song. It was great.
Rested, I headed for Dover and the continent.
