A Digital Traveler Materializes

Location: Corvallis, Oregon USA    Date: 1/1/00

Who can say precisely when an idea actually materializes? The idea of going around the world has been a vague notion of mine for decades. Family responsibilities, money, time, and the fear of the unknown have all kept the dream on hold. Well, I’m breaking out.But, like any prudent, Capricorn, old-guy, breaking out will take time. I’m figuring on 18 months. Here’s my to do list:

	See my youngest child graduated from high school.
	Disentangle my finances from my spouse’s so we can both control our finances.
	Sell or relieve myself and my spouse from any responsibility for running The Computer Exchange.
	Figure out how to travel and remain in touch with friends, family and my investment interests using a personal computer.
	Figure out how to finance the trip to maximize comfort and minimize cost.
